WHAT IS A BLOCKCHAIN?

The blockchain is a public, decentralized database in which information is stored in individual digital blocks and strung together. This chain of blocks is stored in a network of distributed nodes. Each node in the network has a complete copy of the blockchain that is identical to all other nodes. The blockchain is forgery-proof: each new block is linked to the previous block and contains the history in the form of its checksum (a kind of cross-sum). In addition, each block also contains the checksum of the entire chain. This makes the sequence of the blocks unambiguous. In addition, all data is stored in encrypted form to prevent manipulation. The Dreissigacker NFTs are created on the Ethereum Blockchain, one of the largest decentralized networks in the world.

WHAT IS A NFT?

A Non-Fungible Token (NFT) is a unique, non-exchangeable digital object whose data is stored on a blockchain. It is a digital certificate of authenticity, for example for images stored on a blockchain. You can think of a NFT as a digital title deed that cannot be duplicated.

HOW IS A NFT CREATED?

For a NFT to be created, the owner of the original is needed; in the case of a digital work of art, this is usually the artist himself. The digital or digitized work can be "tokenized" on some platforms for a fee. In this case, a digital representation of the original, including certain properties (metadata), is stored on a suitable blockchain as a unique value. If, on the other hand, one was to simply "tokenize" any copy from the internet and sell it as a NFT, this would violate the copyright of the artist. Normally, graphics and pictures are offered completely as unique copies, so-called "single NFTs". Sometimes, however, artists sell several parts or a certain number of signed copies as "multiple NFT". In the case of a specific Dreissigacker wine bottle, of course, only a "single NFT", such as the Legenden NFT 2017 N° 01, is possible.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OWNING A NFT?

If you want to own a NFT, you need a wallet. This acts as a kind of bank account with an individual address. When you want to send or receive payments, you always use your wallet address (similar to an IBAN). (See WALLET)

WHAT IS MINTING?

Minting is the process by which new tokens are created and registered on a blockchain. Minting cryptocurrencies is similar to minting money in traditional finance and banking. Individual products must first be minted to register them as NFTs. The product is then encrypted with a unique code that enables personal ownership. The crypto wallet (see WALLET) used to mint the NFT is the access pass to your collectibles.

WHAT IS CLAIMING?

Following the minting of a NFT, it can be "claimed". Unlike minting, claiming is assigning the NFT to a wallet. This works by transferring a NFT to a wallet. Now you can see the NFTs in your wallet (e.g. MetaMask). They are in your sole possession.

HOW DOES A NFT WORK?

After minting a NFT, it is stored on the respective blockchain. The rights associated with the NFT can thus be checked and transferred at any time. Many NFTs are stored on the Ethereum blockchain. The Dreissigacker NFTs are also stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is the most widely used blockchain for NFTs. The Ethereum blockchain not only stores transaction details, but also other information and offers the possibility of pre-programmed actions, so-called smart contracts. In these smart contracts, the rights of a NFT are recorded and other information is transported.

HOW SECURE ARE NFTs?

Thanks to blockchain technology, NFTs are basically forgery-proof. The blockchain is decentrally stored on different nodes in a network. Data records are combined in the individual blocks. The information is encrypted and only one block has the key for the next block in the chain. This means that the entire history of a NFT can always be traced, making it possible to identify the owner of a NFT without any doubt.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DO NFTs OFFER ME?

NFTs offer the possibility to connect the real and the digital world. For example, they prove that an analogue object (e.g.: Dreissigacker wines) is unique, authenticated and not counterfeit. NFTs thus serve as a certificate of authenticity and show the right of reference to the object. This certificate is unalterable and cannot be copied.

IN WHICH AREAS ARE NFTs USED?

Basically, NFTs are used in many areas. Especially when it comes to digital property and scarcity. Artists, influencers, or musicians use NFTs to create unique digital assets for art, games, music or even tickets for events. As one of the first winemakers, Jochen Dreissigacker now also offers his wine in the form of NFTs.

CAN I SELL MY NFT?

Yes, you can sell NFTs on platforms such as OpenSea, Mintbase or Rarible. In order to resell your own NFT, certain information is required. This information must be entered either when uploading or later when selling (if the NFTs are not offered for sale on the platform by default). It is mandatory to specify whether the NFT is to be auctioned or sold at a fixed price. Since NFTs are not bound to the platform on which they were created, but are stored on the respective blockchain, they can also be offered via different platforms. Please note that blockchain transactions are final and definitive. Faulty transactions can therefore no longer be reversed (unlike with banks).

WHAT IS A WALLET?

The wallet for NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens) is designed to allow you to trade easily, securely, and quickly. The wallet contains your private keys to NFTs, which you can use to carry out transactions. Among the largest and most well-known wallets is MetaMask.

HOW DO I CREATE A WALLET?

One of the most widely used wallets is MetaMask. You can create your own wallet on this website in just a few steps. Click here to go to the site: https://metamask.io. You can use MetaMask with different browsers (Chrome, Firefox or Edge). Please note that Safari currently does not support the connection with wallets. WHAT IS METAMASK?

MetaMask is a crypto wallet for Ethereum. In addition to buying and storing tokens, the MetaMask wallet offers trading on platforms such as OpenSea.com. Since its launch in 2016, MetaMask has made a name for itself as a secure and open-source crypto wallet. You can find more information in the following video.

GRID3 PLATFORM

WHAT IS THE GRID3 PLATFORM?

GRID3 is anNFT platform developed by our digital partner Achtzig20. The Dreissigacker NFTs are minted on the platform. In a figurative sense, the platform functions as a kind of factory. The NFTs are produced and made available. There, the NFTs are also transferred to the wallets of their respective owners. In the future, owners of Dreissigacker NFTs will be able to contact us via GRID3 and experience a completely new form of digital community.

WHY DO I NEED TO CONNECT MY WALLET TO THE GRID3 PLATFORM?

The connection proves your ownership of the Dreissigacker NFT.

WHAT IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN DREISSIGACKER AND THE GRID3 PLATFORM?

Dreissigacker stands for innovation and sustainability. By linking the analogue with the virtual world, new opportunities arise to take the traditional wine trade to the next level and make it ready for the future. The "Legenden NFT 2017" kicked things off. More Dreissigacker NFTs will be created in the future, with the GRID3 platform serving as the "factory" for the Dreissigacker NFTs.

HOW CAN I CONNECT MY WALLET TO GRID3?

After you have purchased your Dreissigacker NFT, you will first receive an order confirmation from us. We will then send you another e-mail. This email contains a link to a website that will take you directly to your NFT. To connect your wallet, click on the button in the top right-hand corner. This requires you to own a wallet and use a "wallet-enabled" browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). Please note that Safari is not a wallet-enabled browser.

HOW CAN I TRANSFER A NFT TO MY WALLET?

After you have connected your wallet to the NFT platform, you will receive another mail. Now follow the next steps listed there to add your NFT to your mobile wallet: Go to your wallet and navigate to "NFT". Click on "Import NFTs" in the lower area. Enter the required information and click on "Import". You will find this in your last email: Address + ID. Your NFT will now be added and you will be redirected to your wallet. Your NFT should now be visible.

HOW DO I PURCHASE A NFT FROM DREISSIGACKER?

You can purchase the Dreissigacker NFT in the Dreissigacker online shop under the SELECTED category (https://dreissigacker-wein.de/Shop/SELECTED/). After your purchase, you will receive an order confirmation and a message with information on how to retrieve your NFT by e-mail. Please follow the instructions in the second email to retrieve your NFT (see GRID3 PLATFORM).

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS CAN I USE TO PAY FOR MY DREISSIGACKER NFT?

In the Dreissigacker online shop, you can pay with PayPal, direct debit or credit card. In the future, we plan to enable payment via Ether (the cryptocurrency underlying the Ethereum network).

WHEN DO I GET MY DREISSIGACKER NFT?

When you complete your purchase in the online shop, you will receive an order confirmation as well as an email with a link that will redirect you to the GRID3 platform. In the next step, you will receive another e-mail with information on how to load your Dreissigacker NFT into your wallet. Please follow the instructions in this message to retrieve your NFT. The prerequisite for this is that you have set up a wallet (e.g. MetaMask).

WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACQUIRING A DREISSIGACKER NFT?

The prerequisite for retrieving your NFT is the existence of a wallet (e.g. MetaMask). Please note that the browser extension required for this is not possible via Safari. Currently, the visualization of the NFTs in your wallet is only possible directly in the mobile version of Metamask. In the browser extension, an overview of your NFTs is possible via the portfolio function. To do this, please follow the link below: https://portfolio.metamask.io/ or call it up via the button within the MetaMask extension. However, your NFT is always stored under your wallet address, even if you do not add it manually. You can see your NFT in OpenSea at any time. To do so, follow the link you received by email.

HOW CAN I CLAIM MY DREISSIGACKER NFT?

To claim your NFT, you must first set up a wallet of your choice (e.g. MetaMask) (see WALLET). When you claim your NFT, you will receive an email with the NFT contract address and the NFT ID. This will allow you to transfer your NFT to your Wallet (see GRID3 PLATTFORM).

HOW DO I ADD MY DREISSIGACKER NFT TO MY WALLET?

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE I CAN SEE MY NFT IN MY WALLET?

Normally, the transfer process is completed within 24 hours. If you have not received your NFT after this time, please contact us via mail (support@dreissigacker-wein.de).

I HAVE RETRIEVED MY NFT BUT CANNOT SEE IT. WHAT ARE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS?

A common source of error is that you have not yet loaded your NFT into your wallet (see GRID3 PLATTFORM). If you have already tried this without success, please contact support via e-mail (support@dreissigacker-wein.de). We will take care of your request immediately.

WHO GUARANTEES THAT I WILL REALLY GET MY WINE IN THE END?

Weingut Dreissigacker assures you that your wine will be delivered in the end. If you have any questions, please contact us at any time at support@dreissigacker-wein.de.

WHO GUARANTEES ME THE AUTHENTICITY OF MY DREISSIGACKER NFT?

The Dreissigacker Winery guarantees authenticity. The blockchain technology supports with a unique identification and allocation of your NFTs. Important note: If you are interested in purchasing a collector's item from the Dreissigacker "Legenden NFT 2017" collection, please refer to the following contract ID: 0xD87fe65D5c6828e614a1F4784BaE19a1667B6f5b Only with this contract ID will you receive access to the Dreissigacker Selected Circle and a bottle of the Legenden 2017 wine.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF OWNING A DREISSIGACKER NFT?

With the NFT purchase, you receive the one-time right to purchase a Dreissigacker wine bottle from the respective collection. Your wine will be stored under optimal conditions until it reaches perfect maturity. If you purchase a NFT from the "Legenden NFT 2017" collection, you will have the opportunity to become a member of the Selected Circle. At Dreissigacker, we store your wine under optimal conditions until it reaches perfect maturity. We will accompany you on this journey of your wine: you will receive exclusive and unique insights into the world of winegrowing and the chance to participate in unique events. In addition, you have the privilege to acquire special site wines that do not go on public sale to the public as well as future NFT releases. In short: You will learn the last secrets about German wine.

CAN I RESELL MY WINE IN THE FORM OF A NFT?

Yes, but you also lose the right to purchase the wine. The subscription right is therefore transferred to the new owner. (See GENERAL NFT & Blockchain - CAN I SELL MY NFT?)

WILL MY NFT LOSE ITS VALIDITY?

No, your personal NFT does not lose its validity. The NFT is part of the blockchain after the minting process and remains in it. Should you claim your bottle of wine, your NFT will be redeemed and therefore cannot be used a second time to claim the wine again. The access to the exclusive Dreissigacker Community, which you receive with the purchase of the NFT, remains.
