Dreissigacker quality levels

Dreissigacker estate wines

Estate wines - as the name suggests, the term estate wine refers to the winery. A winery usually owns several vineyards, that means single sites, in the surrounding area. This means that the vineyards do not necessarily have to be located in one village. For the production of the estate wine, all grapes of one variety of several vineyard sites are processed. No distinction is made as to which estate-owned site the grapes come from. Certain flavour characteristics of individual sites, for example due to higher or lower temperatures or different positions of the sun, are thus naturally balanced out and the result is a round, balanced wine. In terms of quality levels for wine, the estate wine is particularly suitable for better assessing the winery. Because: estate wines represent the winery like a business card - the quality standards and the specific characteristics of a winery can be read from them. Dreissigacker estate wines are characterised by the diversity of our vineyards in and around Bechtheim.

Village wines – The next higher step in quality are represented by the Village wines. The origin of the grapes is somewhat limited in the village wine. As a result, individual characteristics in the taste are more pronounced. In both the Village wine and the Estate wine, the selection of grapes also results in the name: in a Village wine, the grapes come from different vineyards, but the vineyards are all located in the very same village. This creates a clear reference to a place. Our Dreissigacker Village wines ripen exclusively in the top vineyards in Bechtheim and Westhofen. The characteristic diversity of the soils and the high maturity give them their special expression.

Dreissigacker Wunderwerk

Dreissigacker Wunderwerk

Promising, exciting vines produce distinctive and high-quality grapes already at a young age, i.e. after ten to fifteen years. The vines are still too young for our single site wines, but their aromas are already pronounced for something wonderful. By greatly reducing yields and concentrating on just a few grapes, the young vines on the traditional soils in Bechtheim develop fruit with a great deal of potential. The hand-picked grapes are precisely vinified and assembled and finally mature over several months. The young vines produce an innovative, unique, fine and significant wine - a true marvel masterpiece.

Einzigacker

Einzigacker

The Dreissigacker Einzigacker is a true rarity. Jochen Dreissigacker has dedicated himself intensively to the development of this Pinot Blanc and has worked until a unique wine has been created. A powerful Pinot Blanc often needs a counterpart in order not to become too dominant. Jochen Dreissigacker has found an equal counterpart in the Tonneau wooden barrel. The Pinot Blanc matured in oak barrels for ten months. The toasted aromas of the Tonneau give the Pinot Blanc exactly the nuances it needs to become truly unique. Einzigacker is the tasteful result of an exciting liaison of Pinot Blanc and oak barrel.

Dreissigacker Single Site Wine

Dreissigacker Single Site Wine

Single Site wines - The top of the wine quality levels are the so-called single site wines. With these wines, we concentrate on the development of a wine from a singular site. For our Dreissigacker single site Rieslings, the grapes are only selectively harvested by hand from the oldest and best vineyards and carefully processed. The diverse character traits of the individual sites give rise to very differentiated wines. The vinification of the site wines demands absolute attention to detail, because it is all about nuances. Every year, the harvest differs due to the weather - this has an effect on the development as well as on the taste of the wines. The small-scale vinification of the single-vineyard wines is therefore particularly demanding. For the site wines, we rely on the quality of our vines, our experience and our intuition. A vine must be at least 25 years old to produce grapes for a single site wine. Most of our vines here are 45 years old and older. Planting new vines is a very long-term commitment for us. The Dreissigacker single site wines carefully harbour the special characteristics of their origin in their aroma and maturity.
