Dreissigacker Legends

Naming a wine "Legends" has nothing to do with self-praise. No. Quite the opposite. It is a grateful bow. "Legends" is a series that honors personalities who have accompanied or inspired Jochen Dreissigacker on his journey. An homage to mentors, icons, heroes, and cult figures.

According to Wikipedia, a living legend is a person who is considered to have a particularly remarkable life story during their lifetime. However, a legend is also a literary genre closely related to fairy tales and sagas, meaning a glorifying narrative. That is precisely what is attempted with these wines: to give them a character that ultimately tells its own unique story.

The fully ripe grapes for this exceptional and outstanding Riesling come from the oldest vines of the Dreissigacker winery, which Jochen Dreissigacker's grandfather had already planted. Deeply rooted in Rheinhessen limestone-marl soils. And from the best sites like the Geyersberg. Hand-picked and carefully placed in boxes. Like once stomped with feet. The berries are then macerated and pressed with a gentle touch. Then the wine is allowed to relax, settle, and finally ferment spontaneously. The barrel is filled to the brim, and the Riesling is left on its natural lees for a year until a mere trace of residual sugar remains. Then it is allowed to mature for two more years in magnum bottles.

Pure and unadulterated. No manipulation, no wine treatment.

Manufactured in Rheinhessen by a regional carpenter in an exclusive, limited edition. Together, the two oak elements form a perfect cocoon for the Legends magnum bottle.
