The result of ideal conditions and masterful craftsmanship – the Geyersberg Riesling 2019

A moderate summer in 2019, with ample light and warmth and moderate rainfall, provided ideal growing conditions. The grapes had sufficient time to develop their unique elegance. The result is ripe grapes that delight with wonderful freshness. To fully exploit the potential of this aroma, created by nature and craftsmanship, the vinification was extremely gentle. The hand-picked berries were gently crushed with feet and then, after a long maceration period, gently pressed in two stages. This preserved their natural freshness while also bringing out their richness and power. Like all Dreissigacker single vineyards, the Geyersberg Riesling was meticulously aged with plenty of time, finesse, and sensitivity. Stainless steel emphasizes the clear Riesling style, and long aging on the full lees gives the wine a special depth and complexity. Over another eighteen months on the fine lees, the wine further developed its delicate acidity, spice, and complexity, finally being bottled in the summer of 2021 as a fresh, mineral, yet dense, fruit-driven wine. Since then, it has continued to mature in the bottle. These limited bottles are stored for several years under optimal conditions in our cellars until they unfold their full splendor.
