Rosengarten Riesling 2015

The Rosengarten Riesling consistently displays a particularly elegant style year after year: delicate, precise, with clear fruit and subtle minerality. The 2015 vintage combines the finesse of a cooler south-facing slope with the concentration of an exceptionally sunny year. The result is a Riesling that unites lightness, depth, and expression in a harmonious composition.

The 2015 vintage was a year of sunshine: Over 25 percent more sunshine than average characterized the growing season. High temperatures ensured a special concentration in the grapes, while a stable water supply simultaneously relieved the vines. The small berries led to a remarkable concentration of acidity – a rare interplay of ripeness and freshness, which initially made the wines appear energetic and taut. Over the years, this tension has harmoniously balanced itself, so that the 2015 Rosengarten stands today precise, clear, and vibrant.
The Rosengarten vineyard is considered one of Bechtheim's warmest single sites. The mix of limestone and loess loam promotes deep rooting of the vines and gives the wine an impressive aging potential. The over 44-year-old vines significantly shape its character. Despite this warm location, the Rosengarten displays a surprisingly fine, almost ethereal style – elegant fruit, clear structure, and harmoniously integrated acidity. While the neighboring Geyersberg stands for monumental power, the Rosengarten impresses with its quiet, subtle elegance.
Half of the wine was aged in large oak barrels and half in stainless steel. This combination emphasizes both the precision and depth of the wine. The Rosengarten Riesling 2015 matured on the lees for over two years to fully develop its structure and bring out the characteristic finesse of this site.
